Intergalatic Records: New Releases and 2002 Battle Of The Bands
Intergalatic Records run the Battle of the Bands each year.

25 February 2002 - 0 Comments

Auckland's Intergalatic Records have a busy year mapped out in front of them. Expect a debut album from Mama Said sometime mid-year. This album is being produced by Simple Minds bass player Malcolm Foster, and mixed by Steve James, the latter of whom has done knob-twiddling for Superjesus, The Sex Pistols and our very own Weta.

8 Foot Sativa also have their first album lined up for release, and will be co-inciding the launch with a NZ tour in May. Another IR label band, Kosher, will have their next single 'Only One' release to radio at the end of March.

Also coming by way of Intergalatic is the NZ Battle of the Bands. The 2001 event was a massive success, with 250 bands competing in 99 shows all over the country. This year's contest will be the 10th anniversary of the event, and will get underway in July, with the final taking place on 20 September 02.
