With their star shining
bright on the international stage, Broods will touch down on Kiwi soil this week for a string of homecoming concerts,
reminding us why this brother-and-sister act hailing from Nelson is one of the
hottest bands on the planet right now.
Broods kick off their New Zealand leg of the CONSCIOUS
TOUR 2016 on Thursday,
July 14 at Horncastle Arena in Christchurch, before heading north to
play at Auckland’s
Vector Arena on Friday,
July 15. Their Wellington show on Sunday, July 17at Shed 6 is already sold out, but if you’re in the lower South Island on Monday, July 18,
you’re in luck - they’re playing the Union Hall in Dunedin.
Broods will
be supported at all New Zealand shows by Thomston and October.
Broods’
just-released second album CONSCIOUS has been #1 on the New Zealand Top 40 charts two weeks in a row, and debuted at
#2 on the Australian ARIA chart. The record, which features the hits Free, Heartlines featuring Lorde,
and the current single Couldn’t
Believe, is receiving rave reviews around the globe. And
following their sold-out headline tour of Australia’s East Coast, these
homecoming shows promise to be nights that’ll go down in New Zealand music
history.
And, for those lucky enough to have tickets to the Auckland show,
there will be a guest appearance by Australian singer-songwriter Jarryd James, who
recently recorded the song 1000x with Broods.
Signed to Capitol Records in the United States, Broods (AKA Georgia Nott and her older
brother, Caleb) have gone from strength-to-strength since the release of their
debut album Evergreen in
2014. They have toured the world several times over with the likes of Ellie Goulding and Sam Smith; and swept
the floor at the 2015 New Zealand Music Awards, winning ‘Album of the Year’,
‘Best Group’, ‘Best Pop Album’ and the coveted ‘Radio Airplay Record of the
Year’ for their smash hit Mother
& Father.
Broods are now considered one of the hottest acts around, evidenced by this killer
performance of the hit song Free on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
Now based in Los Angeles, and with an extensive US tour planned for the
remainder of 2016, this is your chance to witness the triumphant homecoming of
one of the most exciting bands in music right now.
