"A colossus of sound… thunderous grooves and aggressive delivery... Stardrunk’s power as a live band is undeniable…" Nexus Magazine
Stardrunk are an explosive, high-energy modern rock band hailing from Hamilton, New Zealand.
Since forming in 2000, the four-piece band consisting of:
• Andrew Holmes – Acoustic Guitar / Vocals
• Aden Mackness – Guitar
• Dan Rubock – Bass
• Dylan Raethel – Drums
have racked up a whole host of achievements including taking out top honours in the New Zealand National Battle of the Bands Competition in 2002.
2003 saw Stardrunk travel across the Tasman on a promotional tour of Melbourne, open for Elemeno P, Grinspoon, Pacifier and Fur Patrol.
2004 has seen Stardrunk pick up where they left off, with the band performing around the country with dates on Blindspott’s summer tour, as well as supporting Alien Ant Farm in Auckland.
Stardrunk have independently released two EPs, but it is Stardrunk’s debut album 'Complete Control' (to be released August 26th) featuring the singles 'Fallen', 'Simple Days' and the latest single and rock anthem 'Stand Tall' that has many fans anticipating this album as being the rock album of the year.
Said Neil Wedd from the Melbourne based Indie Initiative Magazine:
"Punchy songs, very Pacifier. Intense performance, it is interesting to hear an acoustic guitar setting off the heavier lead guitar. Some slower songs reveal a mellower side, but it is the rock that will impress you….
If you like Pacifier you will like this band!"
