Following the recent success of the very first Back-to-Basics seminar in Napier, which resulted in over 15 new MMF members join from the Hawkes Bay region, the NZ MMF in association with The Backline Charitable Trust is holding a follow up seminar; The ‘Focus Sessions’ - on Wednesday 12 October 2016.
Open to MMF members only, the free Phase Two seminar is designed for artists and managers who could benefit from in depth discussions regarding challenges specific to their music career. Moderated by MMF Music Manager Lorraine Barry – Lorraine Barry Management (Dave Dobbyn, Nomad, Terrible Sons, Mark Vanilau), the evening will focus on topics such as developing an artist, what tools to create, touring, marketing, and planning the release of a single, album, or EP.

Music Managers Forum NZ is the
collective voice for music managers and self-managed artists. The MMF NZ is a
non-profit trade association dedicated to helping grow artist manager
businesses through education, networking and advocacy.
The MMF NZ is part of International Music Managers’ Forum (IMMF), a worldwide
community of music managers, with active organisations in the UK, Canada,
France, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Poland, United
States, Australia, South Africa, Belgium, Italy and Ireland.
The Backline Charitable Trust was formed in 2015 to advance music and music education for artists especially from Hawkes Bay. We include activities such as songwriting workshops and forums and mentoring to increase the level of live performance and recorded performance in emerging artists.
The trust has managed a small number of workshops over the last six months and co ordinated a series of live performance for emerging artists. Trustees are Tom Pierard (Ideaschool EIT Music Head ) Hamish Pinkham (R&V Director) and Kevin Murphy (Napier City Event Manager).
