The TRIUMPH New Zealand compilation album, being sold to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Trust, has reached GOLD sales status (7,500) following its release less than a month ago.
TRIUMPH boasts some of New Zealand’s favourite musicians including Nesian Mystik, Brooke Fraser, Scribe, Bic Runga and Goldenhorse.
Te Awanui Reeder from Nesian Mystik says he was delighted to support the album and is incredibly happy the New Zealand public is doing the same.
“I truly hope this is one more step towards a cure or improved prevention. Kia kaha koutou katoa,” says Reeder.
Michael Glading of Sony Music NZ is thrilled by sales figures to date.
“This album is a snapshot of some of New Zealand’s hottest talent and we encourage the public to get behind the Breast Cancer Research Trust whilst getting a great New Zealand music fix.” says Glading.
Mimi Lloyd, chair of the Breast Cancer Research Trust, says the Trust is in awe of the album’s success.
Breast cancer rates in New Zealand have been steadily increasing. More than 2000 women are diagnosed and 600 women die each year from the disease, a figure that is higher than the road toll. This shows the need for on-going support into researching the causes and cures so New Zealand women can have a future free from breast cancer.
Triumph is available from all usual music outlets.
