Strikemaster are back!! To celebrate NZ Music Month veteran 3 piece rockers Strikemaster are performing over 2 nights, Friday May 12th and Saturday May 13th, at The Grand Courtenay Place Wellington.
Strikemaster formed in Wellington in 1980 and have played a 100% original music. A live album, Good N Ready was recorded and released by Jayrem, followed by a self-released cassette Play It Loud. The band has toured as support act for Motorhead and Uriah Heep.
After a lengthy hiatus the band always felt there was unfinished business and finally this was realised with a self-funded album, Sun For A Change, recorded in Wellington and released in May 2016. This has been positively reviewed with The Molten Metal Show calling it “one of the best albums of the year for me.” and Star Track Music Promotions calling it “superbly crafted and polished…they have captured the essence of international hard rock”.
A video has been filmed and will be posted on Youtube over the next couple of weeks.
Support acts at The Grand will be Frog N Dan, an acoustic duo from Kapiti Coast and Wellington rockers Merrin, a great up and coming band.
CDs and T-shirts will be available for sale at the venue. Doors open at 9pm and there is a $20 cover charge.
