The local flow of new music CDs and DVDs is not expected to be affected by a decision this week by EMI and Warner Music to sell their jointly owned CD manufacturing business in Australia, where many of New Zealand's CDs and DVDs are pressed.
Sydney-based Digital Audio Technologies Australia (DATA) will be sold at the end of the year to a Singaporean company, Summit Technology.
However, Warner New Zealand MD Jerry Lloyd says both record companies will continue to be clients of the new owners.
It will not mean any change in the flow/availability of product to New Zealand, he says.
