Daniel McClelland’s debut album,
Anxious Heart, hit#2 in the NZ Heatseeker Album charts in its first week on sale.
Released on August 6th at BATS Theatre in Wellington, Daniel McClelland’s debut album
Anxious Heart has been streaming up a storm on Spotify. The record, in its first week on sale, entered the NZ music charts as the country’s #2 NZ Heatseeker Album. McClelland thinks this happened largely off the back of its wide-ranging fan base on Spotify.
“
Anxious Heart has now been played on every continent where Spotify exists,” McClelland said. “It’s great to see it do so well in the United States in particular, because the album was recorded in New York, and it’s about my experience as a Kiwi living therein a dog-eat-dog environment.”
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Theatreview has previously praised McClelland’s “incendiary guitar playing.” Daniel McClelland says his music “sounds like The Beach Boys listened to a lot of Michael Jackson and Nirvana, in 1991.” His debut album
Anxious Heart was released in August 2017 on all major digital music services, and is available on CD via
Bandcamp.
