Check out Cairo Knife Fight’s video for A-Eight here
The video for A-Eight features Hannah Tasker-Poland from Ghost in the Shell. The band relied on their usual team for the video: director Karl Lear, who is known for his work on movies such as Gladiator, and Donny Duncan, cinematographer for Xena: Warrior Princess.
The members of Cairo Knife Fight also boast impressive records themselves, and not just musically. Founding member of the band, Nick Gaffaney, has drummed his way around New Zealand for over 10 years as a session musician. Meanwhile, George Pajon has played as the guitarist for The Black Eyed Peas (and now Fergie) since 1998, and co-wrote several of their songs, including Where is the Love and Let’s Get It Started. The band received nominations for Best Rock Album from NZ Music Awards in 2011 and 2015, and has opened for the likes of Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, and Karnivool.
A-Eight is a follow up to their last video-single, similarly titled A-Six, which Pure Grain Audio calls “darkly seductive” and “utterly hot.” Audio Fuzz describes their music as “what hard rock should sound like.”
