Raglan born singer-songwriter Emma G is returning home for an 18 date, 23 day tour of her homeland in September for her mother’s birthday, celebrating with the release of her debut studio album Taking Flight.
Including a one-night reunion with her NZ Top 20 hard rock band Static Era in Auckland on September 9th, Emma G will be touring from Auckland to Dunedin, catching up with friends, and celebrating the craziness of her last 18 months living in Washington DC.
“It’s been a roller coaster ride,” explains Emma. “From making a living to busking the streets of DC to playing the Kennedy Center, doing shows with the likes of Dave Chappell, and promoting my newest single King For A Day on Fox 5 TV… it’s all been a bit surreal, because I still feel like the small town girl from Te Uku Primary. Seriously, school population 30… to this.
But she’s looking forward to coming home, and reconnecting with familiar childhood pleasures like eating fish and chips on the beach – which “no one in DC seems to do!” she laughs. “Especially as I’ll be releasing my new album on my mum’s birthday! I’m super excited about sharing this journey with her, and everyone else back home!”
