Soundsplash Announces Full Artist Line-up

07 December 2017 - 0 Comments

With six weeks to go, Soundsplash 2018 heats up to deliver Raglan’s best festival experience yet.

Joining Shapeshifter, Slumberjack, DUB FX, Katchafire, and the other great artists announced earlier this year, are twenty-one more acts guaranteed to bring an eco-fuelled truckload of summer goodness. Soul queen Ladi6 is set to unleash her award-winning grooves, and P-Money will make his much-anticipated Soundsplash debut. UK DJ Ed Solo makes a welcome return to Raglan, while Brisbane indie rockers The Jungle Giants will also be jetting in.

Mitch James will be packing all his recent hits, and Thomas Oliver brings his distinctive blend of roots, soul and folk (along with his signature lap-steel guitar). Flowidus and Auckland’s Racing, Brendon Thomas & The Vibes, Imagine This and Cian join the party, along with Whangarei band Otium, Christchurch’s Yayné, Wellington’s Uncle Silverback, and Napier’s Iris Dunn. Rounding out the line-up is a selection of Raglan’s finest including DJ Jamin-I, DJ Atmosphere, Dubsonic, B-Rex, King Macka & Jinja Cat, and DJ Adam Lai.

Keeping it local is a big part of the Soundsplash philosophy, as is an unwavering commitment to a sustainable future. Once again, the festival will be partnering with a number of environmentally-conscious organisations, among them Xtreme Zero Waste, Plastic Bag Free Raglan and Karioi Maunga. Other initiatives include on-ground recycling and solar charging stations, and a use of repurposed materials throughout the site.

In addition to celebrating music, Soundsplash also strives to support those making other forms of positive change within the community. The Open Mindspace will host a full schedule of free workshops for the curious, with a wide range of leaders, innovators, philosophers, entrepreneurs, healers and performers sharing their knowledge and wisdom. Included will be yoga sessions, nutritional advice, spoken word, dance, drumming and more, with an additional focus for 2018 on services around youth mental health.

Firm believers that you are what you eat, the Soundsplash team have once again hand-picked a range of top food vendors, offering delicious and healthy alternatives to standard festival fare. On hand for the hungry will be everything from raw and vegan options, to rotisserie chicken, woodfired pizza, real fruit ice cream and more. In addition, the Global Marketspace will offer a bazaar full of ethically sourced products, with a focus on fair trade, local and arts and culture-based goods.

With limited advance price tickets remaining, now is the time to head to eventfinda.co.nz and secure your place at the must-do summer festival of 2018. With stunning coastal views, on-site camping, beach access and a great all-ages environment, Soundsplash is not to be missed!

Until then, stay tuned for further festival announcements, and head to soundsplash.co.nz to learn more.
