Inside Track 95bFM’s New Zealand music documentary kicked off on The Rock n Roll Wire last week. The first episode will be repeated this Wednesday March 9th on Freak The Sheep at 9.45pm.
This week Inside Track takes a look at the Wellington Music scene. We go inside the capital’s incestuous circle of super talented band-hoppers and ask producer Lee Prebble and label boss Mikee Tucker what makes Wellington such a fruitful base for musos. Barnaby Weir of The Black Seeds gets in on the discussion too, as Inside Track asks “What is it about Wellington?”
In the coming weeks Inside Track investigates radio wars, the effects of anti-smoking legislation on the live music scene, and the perils of jumping the ditch for musicians. Episodes will cover industry events MIDEM and Resonate, and include interviews with national and international players on the scene.
Inside Track is produced at 95bFM by Aroha Harawira and Noelle McCarthy.
It consists of twelve 15 minute episodes covering all aspects of the local music industry and is funded by New Zealand on Air. Inside Track airs every Friday on 95bFM’s Rock n Roll Wire at 1.45pm and on Freak The Sheep the following Wednesday at 9.45pm. It runs until May 27th.
The series will be broadcast on bNet stations Radio One in Dunedin, RDU in Christchurch, Radio Active in Wellington and 95bFM in Auckland.
