After a huge 2017, complete with ARIA nomination and #1 ARIA album, Australian duo Busby Marou return in 2018 with the video for their new single Got Your Back, taken from their album, Postcards From The Shell House. This comes on the back of the news that their track Days of Gold has been selected as a theme song for the upcoming Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

In support of the album, Busby Marou performed sell out shows across Australia on their nationwide album tour, and played to thousands at this year’s Bluesfest. The duo also supported on Elton John’s ‘Once in a Lifetime’ tour as well as Paul Kelly’s ‘Life is Fine’ tour. Busby Marou now are hitting the road again to kick off a New Year. The tour features two New Zealand shows, the duo’s first official headline shows in the country. With New Zealand Music Award winner Jamie McDell as local support these shows are not to be missed.
Postcards From The Shell House was recorded over 18 months with Jon Hume (Evermore) at The Stables Studios in Victoria as well as on Great Keppel Island. The shell house in question is a heritage-listed building on Great Keppel Island off the coast of their native Rockhampton. Early in their career Tom and Jeremy would sit around a campfire there and sing songs. Last year, with producer Jon Hume in tow, that same method in the same location produced a few songs for the album. During the songwriting process there were plenty of collaborators on hand, among them Hume, who co-wrote three of the 11 songs; celebrated female songwriter Alex Hope (Broods, Troye Sivan), who worked on Drink the World Dry and Full Moon; and John Mayer’s guitarist David Ryan Harris, an idol of Jeremy’s, who added guitar to Getaway Car.
