Tickets are proving to be in high demand, with additional shows already added in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane to accommodate the rush of excited fans.
Adding to the anticipation surrounding the tour, Frontier Touring are delighted to announce that the award-winning singer songwriter will be joined at all shows by fellow British star Paloma Faith.
“I’m delighted to be supporting Sam. He’s an artist whose success I admire profoundly and his talent undeniable. A beautiful soul. I think we will be a great match, really looking forward to meeting his vibrant and loyal fans!” - Paloma Faith
Fresh from her recent shows with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the soul singer from Hackney will bring the best of her fourth album The Architect to life on stage. Released in November last year (via RCA/Sony), it follows the huge success of her last album A Perfect Contradiction, which gave rise to the epic lead single, Only Love Can Hurt Like This, which is certified Platinum in NZ.
Faith began making the album while pregnant with her first child and finished it as a new mother. “When you have a child, you look at the world differently,” she says. “I wanted to explain things to my child about the world they’re coming into, and to apologise for it.” On The Architect, the Brit Award winner elegantly combines the political with the personal, addressing issues like Brexit, Syria, and Donald Trump, all the while spreading a message of kindness. Given her status as one of only two British women this decade to have their last three albums go double platinum (the other being Adele), only Faith could round up a supporting cast for the new album that includes Sia, Samuel L. Jackson, John Legend, Owen Jones, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and David Arnold.
Sam Smith’s Gold Certified sophomore album debuted at the top of the charts in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, United States. It has already gathered more than 4 million album sales worldwide off the back of stirring songs like Too Good At Goodbyes (#1 NZ Top 40 single and certified Platinum in New Zealand), One Last Song, Burning and Pray.
‘The second LP from English retro-soul powerhouse Sam Smith doubles down on the magnificent, gender-nonconforming voice he showcased on his 2014 debut, In the Lonely Hour. The results knight one of the mightiest, most expressive singers of his generation.’ - Rolling Stone
Smith has gone from strength-to-strength since the release of 4x Platinum (NZ) debut album In The Lonely Hour (2014) and James Bond theme Writing’s On The Wall, picking up an array of awards including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, three Brit Awards, three Billboard Music Awards and four Grammys, to name but a few.
With tickets flying out the door for The Thrill Of It All World tour and the news that Paloma Faith will also be gracing the stage, there’s not a second to spare to get tickets!
