Music News - Something's Up At The Nunnery

22 March 2002 - 0 Comments

Flying Nun's 'Under The Influence' 21st birthday party bash, which includes the recording of an entire album, today, is to be the subject of a TV documentary. Artists including ex-Pavement man Stephen Malkmus and a long line-up of New Zealand's finest are putting an album's worth of Flying Nun cover songs together with the help of producer Malcolm Welsford.

Live footage interspersed with interviews will form the basis for the Satellite Pictures Documentary, which Head Nun Andrew 'Hat' Meir says the show will capture the diverse nature of the Flying Nun lable and showcase the most critically acclaimed NZ musical outfits, plus a few foreigners who have been under the influence of Flying Nun for sometime.

For those who can't get there today, listen in to your local b.net station for regular broadcasts and check out the on-line studio webcam @ http://www.flyingnun.co.nz/

UPDATE: Bands.co.nz has exclusive pictures and a review of the 'Under The Influence' recording for Flying Nun's 21st Birthday.
