Dynamic
duo,
Lee Mvtthews, have just released the video for their new dance floor banger,
Inside
Out, featuring Watson.
The single, which premiered on New Zealand’s leading dance radio station George FM, is an
energy-fuelled track, which blends gritty synths with a driving beat and an
epic drop. It’s pulled together by Watson’s
soaring vocals and emotionally-charged lyrics.
“The song delves into the struggles of wanting someone who’s had a toxic impact
on your life,” explains the duo. “But the uplifting drop takes you away from
that turmoil.”
The duo - Graham Matthewsand Tom Lee- met in 2012 and started working together when they discovered they had a
nearly identical taste in music, forming Lee
Mvtthews in late 2013. Since then, they’ve gone from
strength-to-strength, gaining a reputation for turning out infectious tunes
that pair colourful melodies with bass-driven drops.
Their debut EP,
Silhouettes,
was released in late 2017 and features collaborations with well-known Kiwi acts
such as
PT and
TY. The
record’s stand-out track,
Nothing
To Lose, featuring Jay
Bulletproof and Marino
Mariner, was a huge hit on George FM and has clocked up more
than 100,000 streams across Spotify and Apple Music.
The duo kicked off 2018 with an NZ tour to support their single
Stay featuring
Omega Levine.
Stay debuted on
Spotify's New Music Friday (AUS/NZ), Apple Music's Best of the Week, as well
featuring on George FM's top 5.
Now,
Inside Out is
following suit. The song’s video, made by Stan McDowall and Taylor Mansfield,
captures candid moments behind the scenes when Lee Mvtthews opened for American electronic
producer JAUZon his recent New Zealand tour, with shows in Dunedin, Christchurch and
Hamilton.
It gives fans a glimpse of the magic of a live Lee Mvtthewsshow and serves as a reminder as to why the duo is considered one of the
hottest live dance acts on the scene right now.
