Kiwi, the all NZ music radio network, is getting set to give another NZ artist a break.
Finalists have been chosen for the Export Gold Ignition, giving one unsigned New Zealand act a head start in the music business.
Competition entries were thick and fast and music industry professionals from Kiwi have chosen six finalists -
Kat McDowell
Motocade
Sonic
The New Freedom
Nana Squad
Quarter 2
(all unsigned with loads of talent!)
The Export Gold Ignition winner gets their track recorded and produced by Andrew Buckton at Studio 203 (and live the rock and roll dream during the recording process) and the song will then immediately be playlisted on Kiwi.
"It was hard to choose the finalists and I don't envy the public having to choose the winner," says Kiwi's assistant Programme Director Tim Homer.
Listen to finalists MP3 samples and vote for your favourite at www.exportgold.co.nz.
Everyone who votes is in to win 20 dozen export gold or one of 10 NZ music packs including Steriogram, Goodshirt, Salmonella Dub, Goldenhorse and many many more.
The track with the most votes at 5pm on May 17 wins. Karyn and Andrew, the Kiwi Breakfast, will announce the winner on Wednesday May 18 on Kiwi.
