Bay Dreams 2019 - First Line-Up Announce

12 July 2018 - 0 Comments

The line-up for Bay Dreams 2019, presented by The Edge, has just been announced and as promised it’s twice the magic. Spread out over two locations - The Mount in the North Island and Nelson in the South Island.

Promoters confirmed earlier this year that Bay Dreams, which has been held on January 2 in the Bay of Plenty for the last three years, was getting a sister festival in sunny Nelson, on January 4.

Now they’re excited to reveal that some of the biggest names in music will play at both The Mount and Nelson, with top-notch line-ups also confirmed for pre-parties in both spots. In true Bay Dreams fashion, there are still more acts to be announced in the coming weeks, including a major scale hip hop artist for the North Island event.

The big hitters at both festivals include Kiwi legends Shapeshifter, who will play at the pre-party in The Mount on  January 1 and headline in Nelson on January 4; Australian singer and multi-instrumentalist Tash Sultana; Sticky Fingers, who recently played two sold-out shows in Auckland; Peking Duk and their energetic new live show; $uicideboy$ on one of the main stages this round due to massive demand; British DJ and Producer Macky Gee who returns to these shores after recently selling-out his NZ shows in a matter of minutes; Pnau who are playing their first-ever show on Kiwi soil; and the ever-impressive Katchafire.

Bay Dreams has established itself as New Zealand’s biggest festival, selling out year after year. And now with the event being held across two islands, and close to some of the best beaches and holiday hot spots in the world, it’s gearing up to be the highlight of the Kiwi summer. Both locations now boast two main stages for the first time.

The Mount event kicks off on January 1 with a pre-party, featuring Shapeshifter, Mr Carmack, L.A.B and more to be announced. The main festival day, on January 2, boasts Tash Sultana, Sticky Fingers, Peking Duk (live show), $uicideboy$, Macky Gee, Pnau, Home Brew, Katchafire, Delta Heavy, Ladi6 and 12th Planet.

Adding to the excitement for those more bass-inclined, is the Hospital Records stage takeover, featuring Danny Byrd, London Elektricity, Spy, Logistics, Etherwood, MC Dynamite, and guests. Other acts across the monster line-up include Virtual Riot, Mr. Carmack, P-Money, Nitti Gritti, Truth and Times x Two.

In Nelson, Mr Carmack, Hybrid Minds and Stanton Warriors are first announced for the pre-party on January 3; while the mighty Shapeshifter will close the main stage on January 4. Joining them are world-renowned artists Tash Sultana, Sticky Fingers, Peking Duk (Live), $uicideboy$, Macky Gee, Pnau, Katchafire, Home Brew and Delta Heavy.

The Hospital Records stage in Nelson will also feature Danny Byrd, London Elektricity, Spy, Logistics, Etherwood & Dynamite MC.

Camping is available at both festivals, and this year steps it up once again with entertainment such as NZ’s biggest silent disco; a premium marketplace and hot showers.

The famous one-day earlybird ticket deal starts 7.00pm Wednesday July 25 from www.baydreams.co.nz
