Shihad Wellington Show Sold Out - New Venue for Christchurch

24 September 2018 - 0 Comments

To accommodate the demand for tickets the Christchurch show on Friday 19th October will now take place at The Bedford Bigtop, with additional tickets via shihad.com. All tickets for the original venue will still be valid.

Wellington’s show on Saturday 20th October at Shed 6 has SOLD OUT, with no further tickets available.

A lot has changed in Aotearoa since 1988, but some things stay the same… Like the presence of Shihad, New Zealand’s most treasured heavy rockers.

Over the past three decades they’ve released nine studio albums (including five NZ chart-toppers), travelled all over the world with endless tours, sold out headline shows and played with musical heroes like Motorhead, Metallica, Faith No More and AC/DC to name a few.

Now, to celebrate 30 years of Shihad, the band are undertaking a New Zealand national tour – coinciding with the release their classic 1998 album The General Electric on vinyl for the first time. The General Electric was the LP that re-established Shihad’s position as sonic giants of the music industry, with hit singles My Mind’s Sedate, The General Electric and Pacifier.

Once again joining the boys on tour are Auckland’s energetic hard rock band Villainy, representing the new vanguard of Kiwi rock.

As special guests for the shows in Christchurch, Wellington and New Plymouth, freshly reanimated sludge-metal monsters Beastwars will add their heavy riffage to the mix, dipping into their trilogy of albums Beastwars, Blood Becomes Fire and The Death Of All Things as well as sharing some new material.

And sharing the stage in Hamilton, Auckland and Mt Maunganui are Aotearoa freak-funk st2ompers Kora and their infamously electric live show. Comprising literal brothers Fran, Stu and Brad Kora plus spiritual brother Richie Allan, Kora have been finessing their inimitable heavy soul sound over the past 15 years, amassing multiple platinum certifications and #1s along the way.
