Rhian Sheehan - Live Performances Across NZ Start This Weekend

25 September 2018 - 0 Comments

With only one week until the release of his new album A Quiet Divide, Rhian Sheehan kicks off a special run of shows across New Zealand this weekend. Sheehan will lead eight musicians to perform a truly sublime and emotive, immersive audio-visual show.

Members of the Dunedin Youth Orchestra, directed by Dunedin composer Anthony Ritchie, add a rich layer of sound to this cinematic experience to help close out the Arts Festival Dunedin.

With a visual backdrop created by Weta Workshop and a host of NZ's best animators, these live shows will combine orchestral and electronic brilliance with stunning visuals and is not to be missed.

Following on from Dunedin, Sheehan will perform in Wellington, Nelson and Auckland.

Full tour dates

Saturday September 29 - Dunedin Town Hall (Arts Festival Dunedin)

Friday October 12 - Michael Fowler Centre, Wellington

Sat 20 / Sun 21 October - Nelson Theatre Royal (Nelson Arts Festival)

Fri 26 / Sat 27 October - Q Theatre, Auckland

Sheehan will showcase the brand new album A Quiet Divide, as well as previous work from acclaimed albums Standing In Silence and Stories From Elsewhere. Sheehan’s live shows are a rare occasion, with this being the first New Zealand performances since 2013.

“The concert is a truly “wish you were here” experience, where the audience is so mesmerised, you could hear a pin drop – before the bursts of applause that signals the spell has been broken momentarily.” – Sunday Star Times

"A stunning acheivement." - Clash Magazine (UK)
