Off the back of their latest single Kronan, The Upbeats today announce the release date of their No Sleep ‘Till… Japan & Iceland EP.
The EP, which was seven months in the making, has been mostly crowdfunded by their fans and will be available on October 5th on vinyl and digital.
In the midst of a sell out New Zealand tour, The Upbeats are well known in the DnB circles both at home and abroad for pushing boundaries and creating music in ways that haven’t been tried before - and this EP is no exception to that work ethic.
Hand selecting some of the world’s best electronic artists, Dylan and Jeremy first travelled to Japan to mind meld with not only Tokyo’s DMC world champion DJ Kentaro and dubstep maestro Goth-Trad, but also multi talented trio Noisia.
After crafting three mind-melting songs in Tokyo, The Upbeats then travelled to Iceland where, in amongst the vast glacial landscape, they wrote and produced with ex Ivy Lab dnb dynamo Halogenix, UK RAM Records lad Culture Shock and neurofunk young leader Emperor.
The fruit of their Japan and Iceland labour is an array of the finest bass music they could create. A nine track EP crafted with love and bass, to give back to the fans that made the project a possibility.
