Music News - Alice Ivy to make New Zealand debut

Alice Ivy to make New Zealand debut

02 October 2018 - 0 Comments

One of the hottest acts on Australasia’s electronic scene right now, Alice Ivy, will play her first-ever New Zealand show on Wednesday, October 10 at Neck of the Woods on K' Road in Auckland.

The Melbourne-based artist and producer independently released her debut single, Touch in 2016. It drew praise from taste making music blogs the world over and racked up more than a million streams on Spotify.

She followed it up with Get Me A Drink feat E^ST in March 2017, which was added to high rotation on Triple J. The Age newspaper placed it at #8 in their “Best Songs Of 2017”.

In September 2017, in the wake of signing an AU/NZ license deal with Dew Process/UMA she released Be Friends ft. Tim De Cotta & Caseaux O.S.L.O. and in early January 2018 Chasing Stars ft. Bertie Blackman both of which were added to high rotation at Australian radio.

At mid-year Chasing Stars was the 11th most played song on Triple J for 2018.

In January 2018 she signed an international license deal with Last Gang records in Toronto, a subsidiary of Entertainment One Music and one-time home of artists ranging Death From Above 1979 to Metric, Chromeo, Purity Ring and more. She was the first Australian female ever signed to the renowned boutique label.

Her debut album I’m Dreaming, released February 9, 2018, has amassed 6 million streams on Spotify thus far and was named among best albums of 2018 so far by TheMusic.com.au and MSN.com to name a few.

In the past two years Alice Ivy has performed more than 200 shows in four continents including main supports for Foster The People (US) Oh Wonder (UK), Billie Eilish (US), The Jungle Giants, Flight Facilities and Vera Blue plus multiple Australian headline tours, international headline dates in the USA and Singapore, showcases at Canadian Music Week 2017, SXSW 2018 and countless festivals including Splendour In The Grass (twice), Falls Festival, Listen Out, Strawberry Fields, Pitch, Groovin’ The Moo, VIVID and Panama.
