8-piece Electro/Soul/Percussion Collective The Waiheke International Soul Orchestra (W.I.S.O.) release their new single/video Inlovewithmyenemy.
Taken from a forthcoming debut EP entitled Round 1, due out in late 2018, the single features the swirling ghostly vocals of Nikki Ngatai (from alt/noise 3 piece Oyawa) atop a drum'n'bass groove.
The video was shot on the beautiful Onetangi Beach on their native Waiheke Island, featuring vocalist and Wahine Toa, Nikki Ngatai.
After two years of shows around NZ, founding members Lee Catlin & Solomon Cole decided the 8-piece live band needed a musical exorcism and a new sound that reflected the current state of play. Tracks like Inlovewithmyenemy feature ongoing collaborations the group is excited to pursue.
They've announced tour dates to follow the release, that sees them play shows with 12 piece afro-beat, world, avant-garde collective New Telepathics for 3 dates, and return to headline Okere Falls Bierfest Sat Oct 20th alongside The Miltones, with more dates to come.
WISO have shared the stage with NZ acts such as Yoko-Zuna, Sorceress, Latin Aotearoa, P-Digsss and Sunshine Sound System, and headlined at The Christchurch Jazz & Blues Festival for The Blue Note Series, Okere Falls Strong Beer Fest, and Sun Sets Festivals.
Inlovewithmyenemy is now available from iTunes, Spotify, and all good digital providers.
