Auckland alt-pop quartet Beachware kick off 2019 with the release of a gloriously quirky video for their most recent single Respite, by the ultra-talented director and producer Frances Carter.
Respite is all about escaping from tedium, and according to band-member Alexandra Selkirk-Hanna, Carter's video for the song delivers more than they'd dared to hope for - complete with dynamite water ballet sequences.
"She successfully embodied our ironic and lovably awkward vibe, while simultaneously answering our call for a vulnerable, inclusive, queer, body confident message.
"The video is dreamlike and at the same time so unfeigned. We are so chuffed to show you Respite."
Respite is available now on all the usual streaming services.
