Introducing the debut album from Duo Furniss Brothers

08 February 2019 - 0 Comments

Auckland musician and songwriter Ben Furniss formally of 60's tinged popsters Superturtle and Alt Country groups The Broken Heartbreakers and White Swan Black Swan as well as Surrealistic, takes a diversion from singing in Psych Surf Trio Shady Brain Farm to produce, with Melbourne based sibling Matthew Furniss (drums and percussion), an album of disarming neo-psychedelic tracks that melt together telling a tale of the abduction of protagonist 'Cloudwatcher' and the mission to return her to her lover. Set in Western road Movie style Americana landscapes, guided by Hawks, clouds and the Moon with the eventual return/reuniting.

In the tradition of early seventies conceptional rock, Moody Blues and Genesis with hints of 1970 John Lennon, First Nations style drumming, Piano Balladry and Peter Green crossed with Neil Young influenced guitar licks.

Recorded in a barn/shed studio in rural Kumeu.

Vinyl available for pre-order, drops on April 8th 2019.
