Coke New Releases - Fresh Music from the fridge

Saturday December 3rd 11am - 12pm, TV2

It’s been a hectic week here at Coke New Releases. Phil led our skeet shooting team at the annual Christmas bash on Tuesday (ch-chunk… bang!) firing at will (ch-chunk… bang!) and finding himself (“Put it down! Put it down, Phil!”) at one with the weapon. Thankfully the Goodnight Nurse lads were on hand to wrestle him to the ground, drag him to the studio and calm him with touring anecdotes.

With true military grit, he donned his camo gear, painted his face black and headed into the woods to round up the latest video insurgents, coming back with the new Maximo Park, Che Fu and The Strokes. It took him three days of pitched gun battles to flush out the Three 6 Mafia while the Bleeders wounded themselves but came out shooting with their latest clip ‘The Kill’.

Meanwhile Sony came to his assistance providing us with a brand new MP3 Walkman and headphones to give away, while the silver songstress, the Sony MHC-RG270 continued to strut her stuff around the studio… one lucky winner’s going to get to push all her buttons…

Top of the Pops

Saturday December 3rd 5pm – 6pm TV2

TV Guide Best on the Box “Best Music Show”

As excited as we are at being able to make a sentence out of this week’s bands – My Life Story Bored Gordon – we are far more excited at the fact that both bands will be in the studio this weekend.

My Life Story, the pop rock band who set the Schools Tour on fire this year are popping into Top of the Pops studio to play their brand new, hot-off-the-press single “Fairytale Life”.

They are joined by indie rockers Bored Gordon, who are neither bored nor are they Gordon. Still, they have a great new single “Seaside Suicide” that’s a lot less depressing than the title suggests!

Plus we have brand new performances from Athlete, and Anastacia. Not to mention a scorcher from the potty-mouthed-can’t-keep-any-friends boys of rock, Oasis.

Last chance for the Big Day Out Franz Ferdinand competition, get your entry in or forever regret it!

Last but not least, we’ve gone all patriotic on you and made a double-whammy kiwi Top of the Pops Album of the Week prize pack with Fly My Pretties and Bic Runga. We’ve got 5 of each of their latest albums to give away!!!

Coke Countdown

Sunday December 4th 10am - 12pm

The Darkness are the big movers this week in the top 40, travelling at lightning speed into the top half of the charts as they journey to hell and back with their new single. Meanwhile Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas make a brand new appearance subtly bumping their way to the top with ‘My humps’

Kanye and Madonna maintain their grip in the top 5, while the Sugababes’ continue to ride the pop elevator higher. 4 Corners make a welcome visit to the charts and we’ve hot new clips from The Strokes, The Bleeders and Juse feat. Smash Proof.

Plus there’s your chance to win the Longest Yard DVD and soundtrack prize pack, and relive those glorious Foo Fighter concert moments by winning their double CD, ‘In Your Honour’.
