Self-proclaimed pop star for dorks, Geoff Ong returns with his latest hit All The Hours, a fluid-yet-contemplative track written about “nostalgia, memory, and how it's bullshit that society tells us that we need to be productive all the time”.
So, this song is about consciously placing value on those 'wasted' hours and recognising the value they have in shaping who we are.” - Geoff Ong “Modern society seems to value productivity and hustle and grind over nearly everything else - even our self-care routines are thought of as ways to refresh ourselves so we can be productive again. Any time not spent in the pursuit of some goal or ambition is deemed to be wasted, and I think that really sucks.
Over the last few years Geoff has been building a career as an independent artist in New Zealand, channelling his personal experiences into creating inspired pop songs that transcend the lack of authenticity and genuine connection that can be found in modern pop, particularly amongst listeners who feel like they aren’t ‘one of the cool kids’. Geoff’s music is refreshingly genuine. This is the mainstream, for misfits.
His last three singles have debuted as top 5 in the NZ music charts, and have also gained him airplay on The Edge, ZM, 95bFM and more, with RNZ describing his style as, “music for millennial's. It’s emotionally authentic and fun”. music for the millennial generation
