03 March 2020 - 0 Comments

Returning for its second year, Milk & Honey Music Festival is celebrating International Women’s Day on this Sunday March 8 in one venue, for one big FREE festival at Auckland’s favourite waterfront spot, Silo Park.

The 2020 line up has hip-hop queen JessB, indie couple She’s So Rad, drum n bass boss MC Talidreamy electronic duo Imugi, RnB power house Disciple Pati and some of the best performers from Girls Rock Aotearoa take to the Silo Park stage live and for free.

DJ's Phoebe Falconer and Lil Bok Choy are joining the line-up alongside a debut performance of the DJ duo The Gingham Twins aka Charlotte Ryan (RNZ) and Alice Murray.

Opening the festival will be a special kapa haka performance by critically acclaimed Angitu.

The female led festival will continue into the feast of street food on offer.

Choice Blocks owner Arana Horncy began making real fruit handmade ice pops to provide healthy all natural treats for her kids. Mother and daughter duo Claudia and Gala (last name) created Lets Brezel after craving their traditional German baked treat while living in NZ. Other food trucks include Israeli street food specialist, Carmel, organic popcorn artists Organic Knowledge, wood-fire and grill specialists Mediterranean Bites, North American bakers The Pie Piper and coffee warriors Samaori Coffee.

“This is an amazing lineup of some of Auckland's absolute best performers and food trucks. Silo Park are proud to be collaborating with Milk & Honey this summer and we look forward to celebrating International Women’s Day down at the park” - Amy Pollard, Silo Park

Music industry heavy-weights and the team behind Milk & Honey - Lani Purkis, Teresa Patterson and Julia Deans are proud of the 2020 Festival line up.

“We have curated a line up that celebrates genre, ethnic and rainbow diversity. The collaboration with Silo Park has allowed a fantastic new work environment for our behind the scenes and backstage women whanau” - Milk & Honey team.
