I Wonder a song created by Aly with a distinct flavored view of the future woman was awarded the NZOA (New Zealand on Air) New Artist Recording Grant of $5,000 in the February 2004 funding Round. I Wonder was Produced by Alan Janssen well known for co-writing and producing one of NZ's most successful singles the #1 US and world wide hit OMC's How Bizarre.

For the last few weeks THE KIWI SOFA LIVE WEBCAST & CHAT has been screening on her site at www.alycook.com and grown to over 200 viewers in just a few shows. Screening every Saturday in the USA, UK & Europe and Sundays in NZ and Australia. Aly's Marseille based PR company PHMC GPE decided to seperate the show onto its own website and launch it to the world on NZ's Waitangi Day. Only thing is with NZ being ahead on the international date line, it's Waitangi Day every where else in the world except for NZ and Australia. Aly hosts the show with live music, videos, interviews and much more. Viewers from all over the globe enjoy a live interactive show, where viewer can chat back via a chatroom and Aly and her guests can perform and chat back to the viewers. Kiwi Making Waves around the Globe Posted: Fri Jan 8, 2010 2:46 pm The Start for Aly Cook's year begins with plans to record a debut album with Auckland producer Alan Jansson at the helm. After raising an album budget using The Netherlands based Sellaband platform http://www.sellaband.com. 4 months and 6 days after signing up on the website some 225 believers in Aly's music from around the world invested US$20,000 between them in her album project. Alan Jansson produced Aly's first single I Wonder nominated for APRA Country Song of the Year 2005 and mastered the Nashville recorded 2nd single Country Storm. Alan is one of NZ's most successful producers and in fact is the only producer in NZ to have produced an album in NZ with platinum sales status in the USA. http://www.alanjansson.com Aly has involvement as part of a voluntary committee running the 3rd Taste Tasman. http://www.tastetasman.co.nz Taste Tasman is a day celebrating the Nelson Tasman Regions Art, Wine, Food, Fashion Music. Aly is not only on the organising committee but will take to the stage as part of the backing band as a backing vocalist for Sharon O'Neill. Taste Tasman is also running a songwriting seminar at the Nelson School of Music with APRA, NZMIC & Creative NZ staff present on Wednesday 10th of March, 2010. Aly Cook pen's song for Euro 10,000,000 World Charity Lottery Posted: Thu Jun 4, 2009 6:48 pm NZ Music Month has been a successful month for Aly Cook with featuring in the APRAP magazine & website commenting on copyright issues and APRA's role in them. The biggest news however is that Aly's latest song "Time For A Change" has been chosen to be used as a theme song for the World Charity Bank Lottery which will carry a first prize of Euro $10,000,000. This will be an ongoing lottery with 70% of its profits going to charities aiding poverty stricken countries. "Time for a Change" will be used as the sole theme song for the lottery and will be released as Aly's next single. The Time for a Change Single are planned to launch 9th of September 2009.
