Bio

Taranaki is not particularly well-known for its punk bands. With veterans Sticky Filth and exports Kitsch aside, the region has produced few bands of note. One of the new breed trying to change perceptions is The Uglystick. Formed in April 2001 as a 5-piece, the band has now stripped back to being a trio and have been racking up gigs around the lower North Island with a diverse array of bands including GMC, The D4, The Datsuns, Yokel and Moneky Puzzle.

The young band play a raucous, hardish brand of punk rock, which they are honing through their live shows. They have also self-recorded and released their debut 10-song album, entitled 'No Door Charge Assholes'.
