Cripple Mr Onion originated in Christchurch, in the South Island of New Zealand, and produce a rich landscape of intelligent yet powerful music, which has been described as spellbindingly beautiful one moment and violently cataclysmic the next.
The diverse progeny CMO spits forth to their evergrowing and devoted live following are charged with primal, tribal beats, haunting harmonies and expansive atmospheric textures - each song becomes individual as a living entity with it's own unique qualities, evolving organically to often epic proportions.
CMO have destroyed stages with bands such as Motorhead, Shihad, Blindspott, 8 Foot Sativa, The D4 and Stylus - a live Cripple Mr Onion set in full force is a thing that must be experienced to be believed.
Armed with their new full-length album 'Antigravity', the band has recently relocated to Auckland to unleash their sound on new ears, and are currently gathering forces in preparation for transit to the next level...
Band Members:
Andy Woodd (vocals, guitar)
Rene Harvey (drums)
Az Burns (guitar)
Daniel Hawkins (bass)

Cripple Seek New Bass Player Posted: Sun May 9, 2004 2:24 pm Official Announcement Unfortunately, the rumours that Fud has left the band are true. Fud has departed to pursue other directions in music - those of us who remain thank him for his part in our journey so far, and wish him luck with his future interests. Our new bassist will possess the following qualities: - Competent across various playing styles suited to our sound, experienced in a live situation, learns fast. - Highly motivated and believes in what we're doing. - Vocal ability preferred. - Overriding consideration will be given to a person who fits in with our personalities, outlook and musical style. - Goes off onstage with a real connection to the fans. - Must have own gear. - Lives in Christchurch or is willing to relocate. We'll be here for the next 12 months or so, but we're still looking to tour fairly widely as soon as possible. If you think you could be our new bassist and would like the opportunity to impress us with your skills and suitability for our band, you can contact us by email at [email protected] - please include phone and email or snail-mail contact details, and a description of your influences, styles, experience and anything else you'd like to mention. No large file attachments please, if you want to send a demo CD or VHS we'll get back to you about how to do that. We look forward to hearing from you.. |
