New Zealand singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Miller Yule, draws inspiration from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, John Mayer and James Bay.

Miller’s songs are devastatingly charming and deliver the kind of Americana pop-rock excellence that appeals to a wide range of audiences. Whether it’s a soft, acoustic ballad, or an in-your-face, hard-hitting rock banger, this guy has got you covered.

Recorded at The Voice Box in Auckland by Miller’s father, legendary producer and engineer, Phil Yule. Miller says, “I have recently released the studio version of Tangled Up which followed my previous singles Lock Me Up and Evergreen. Despite this, I wanted to share ‘Tangled Up’ in its original solo-acoustic form. How it was written and performed live. Just me, my acoustic guitar and my harmonica. So many people have connected to it that way.”

A post-breakup song, Tangled Up goes beyond the initial emotional hurt with Miller revealing that Tangled Up “takes place where there has already been some healing and acceptance, but it’s the process of separating from one another and untangling the life you built together. We’ve all been there, and it’s hard!”

Miller’s career in music has been colourful since it really kicked off in 2016. That year he wrote, performed, recorded and mixed his debut EP Shoot Me In The Heart, which debuted at #4 on the New Zealand Albums Chart. The EP garnered positive reviews and earned Miller a nomination for ‘Best Independent Debut’ at the Independent Music NZ Taite Music Awards, and ‘Best Engineer’ at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards. Miller capped off 2016 supporting Ben Harper on his New Zealand tour.

Miller has been a NZ Country Music MLT Song-writing Awards finalist three times, and an Unsigned Only/International Song-writing Competition Award winner. In 2018, he released his live EP Miller Yule Live, an EP showcasing his passionate and dynamic live show. Miller received New Zealand On Air music funding for his 2021 single Lock Me Up. Evergreen followed in early 2022, and both received a great response in New Zealand and Australia, then Tangled Up hit the world. Now, he’s stripping it back and releasing Tangled Up (Acoustic Version).
