Knights of the DUB Table hit full stride with their first physical release ‘Tronic EP’ – a showcase of musical styles blended together to bring you an emotive and unique sound. Following on from their previous ‘Sing It To Me Remix EP’ (digital), ‘Tronic’ has captured the ultimate vision and essence of the band.
There is a sense of growth within the music as the Knights have matured through a flurry of live performances. Since their win at the 2009 York Street Studios Band Experiments, their sound has become bolder and stronger and this is echoed through the tunes laid down on ‘Tronic’. The sounds are full and rich and delve deeper into the musical creativity which will forever keep the Knights sounding fresh and ahead of the times.
The Tronic story begins with the first track ever written by the Knights, 'Sing It To Me'. This brooding dub piece sets a compelling scene with strong vocals, catchy lyrics and resonant horn lines. Nothing short of epic, this hypnotic tune displays the potential to stir the soul of those listening via a strong emotive current.
The second track entitled 'Small', is an endearing roots number written from a child’s perspective and boasts an infectious chorus that will have us all singing along. 'Living Carefree' is next, driven by an upbeat ska/hip hop rhythm, catchy horn line and solid bass, then followed by rich drum n bass track 'Come Down' in which we pay homage to the power of music. Both of these tracks have become genuine crowd pleasers for the Knights.
Finally, as if to add the icing to the cake, the Knights provide us with five amazing bonus remixes by some of New Zealand’s top-notch producers. Music legend Tiki Taane, dubstep maestro Optimus Gryme, Undertow, AUM and the Knights very own Mr Samy’samson all jump on board to offer another layer to this powerful EP. Evan Short (Concord Dawn) adds the cherry on top with his mastering magic, making everything crisp, phat and blissful to your ears.
Your 2010 would not be complete without this ground breaking EP that sets the standard for greater things to come.

“Since their inception the Knights have gone from strength to strength...2010 is shaping up to be a big year.” - New Zealand Musician Magazine 2010.
“These guys have a great style and for me to be apart of their progression is an honor.” - Tiki Taane 2009.
“…they’re a treat to watch on stage…a strong element of improvisation, with lengthy, indulgent interludes that raise energy levels among the crowd before they hit the heavy bass lines. The mish-mash of dub, reggae, drum ‘n bass and rock is a surprising one, but it works well…after a high energy, tight two hour set, Knights of the Dub Table proved they can definitely hold their own.” - Gisborne Herald 2009.
“From the outside looking in it looks as though these guys are on the brink of something epic.” - Mammoth 2009.
