emo kids....discussion Posted: Sat Apr 29, 2006 10:39 am hmm i was just thinking....why does everyone have something against "emo" kids? What they're doing isn't affecting you is it? I mean if the kid wants to cut themself up and listen to songs about suicide and what not, let them, shit i use to to be emo at one stage also so many people pideonhole a kid as "emo" just becuase they listen to specific bands, or even one band alone. I've seen some kid get flammed "emo" 'cause he listens to Hawthorne Heights, there aint no specific fucken law that states "any kid who here by listens to (insert band name here) will now be labeld EMO" Give the kids a fucken break, man. My main question here is like i said before "what do you have against emo kids"? Are they against your religion or something? or is you your head stuck so far up your ass that you're too good for everyone? Do you see emo kids saying "oh fuck, look at that non-emo kid, fuck he's a loser" blah blah blah no, it's the antithesis to that. Let's start a discussion here, any views are welcome. RE: emo kids....discussion Posted: Sat Apr 29, 2006 11:07 am Good point sailor. The only thing I dislike about SOME emo people is the fact that they are very miserable and seem to feel that their whole life is shit. It's only the angry, 'I hate life and everything in it' ones who anyone me because I think, hey life is pretty good, yeah it may have some ups and downs but get over it, everyone does at some stage. So in conclusion: I don't mind their style or whatever they want to do, they can do whatever they fuck they want, and that's cool. But I do not like the attitude towards things that some of them have. |

RE: emo kids....discussion Posted: Sat Apr 29, 2006 11:16 am Yes, it's not like I'm sitting here waiting to ripp into anyone. I would just like to hear some of the motives behind certain styles and trends, or the lack of a motive! I'm open to views, so this is not a judgemental thread. |

RE: emo kids....discussion Posted: Sat Apr 29, 2006 1:01 pm What makes someone emo? Could be the haircuts? A long slick fringe with the short back. A they wear stockings on their arms. Of course these are stereotypical judgements which do not apply to all people who deem themselves 'emo'. It could also be the type of music they listen to but this could be extremely broad so I won't go into it. Because alot of music has glimpses of emo-ism in it. And once again, attitude plays a good part in emo-ism, although I do believe goths are much more angry than emos. |

RE: emo kids....discussion Posted: Sun Apr 30, 2006 12:01 am Well if you told a stuck up cock sucking fuckwit about your mate, they'd be like "aw she's emo, man" but i myself say there's no difference, man. I mean to me wrist slitters are just people who are depressed and need a friend to talk to. My advice to you, son, would be to just keep in contact with her and let her know she's got a friend who cares and can trust and talk to. You wanna get to her before the "suicidal" thoughts kick in, i've been through that stage before and it sucks going through it alone. So help her out, man. |

RE: emo kids....discussion Posted: Mon May 1, 2006 10:48 am You need to talk to this friend of your cookie straight away. Suicide is a very real thing which I have experienced through another friend. Making sure they know they do have someone that cares for them is crucial. Don't leave it until it's too late. Emo is abbreviated from emotional. So all the styles and genres that are given to emos now days have come later after the term emo was made. |

RE: emo kids....discussion Posted: Mon May 1, 2006 11:00 am yip, excatly....i mean when my band gets off the ground and IF we get fans. I wanna play a suicide concert where all funds to go yellow ribbon. I've lost friends and family to suicide nd i've also contemplated it multiple times in my life but i've made it through. When you listen to my songs you'll kinda see this, i believe suicide is something that needs more addressing. |

RE: emo kids....discussion Posted: Mon May 1, 2006 11:07 am Suicide is a cowardly option of escape man. Do not ever do it. As for the fundraising thing, that is a fuckin sweet idea. And yes it definately needs more attention. |
