speaking of religions i have a lill something to ponder your mind on, i brought this discussion up while having a conversation with a friend last night on the phone. Anyway....i'm not a religious person, but my grandfather's christian, so there were always a few bibles lying around. I read one here and there and what stumps me is this....somewhere in the bible it says that all mental visions came in an upside down form....if this is so, then owuld the "devils' number" really be 999? Instead of 666

not too sure which part of this bible your referring to? Is this the Catholic Holy Bible?

I'm not too religious either but went to a catholic school so I know some stuff about the Catholic Church.

But from what your saying, yes I guess it would be 999 Laugh

Mr Green No, No!

From what I've read, the number 666 was assigned to Ceaser Nero when he was persecuting Christians. You couldn't talk about certain people in power, so they were given numbers instead.

Recent research actually shows that it may be 616 not 666, depending on how you interpret certain texts.

That's one of the supposed origins I've heard anyway.

The bible as we know it has been re-written and butchered so much I wouldn't put an ounce of faith in it at all, even if I did believe in Jesus (which I do not).

the church have taken out bits and pieces as they become in politically correct.

and parts have been added when found.

I wouldn't believe it myself. It's too much like a fairy tale. No, No! Rolling Eyes

There are dozens and dozens of interpretations that have been butchered over the centuries.

Certain bits have been twisted/amended/removed to suit the authorities of the time. The King James bible for example, was re-written to put a sense of fear of authority into the book.

I know one Gospel was completely excluded because it spoke of reincarnation, which would completely destroy their "bee good in this one life and you'll go to heaven" fairytale... (this gospel was written before the others too).

yeah thats a good point. The Catholic church is one with some very weird ideas about things. Often very old fashioned. But it seems in this modern age the church is starting to ask questions of itself which they cannot answer. No, No!
