The Naki has done it again! Joe Satriani only NZ show on July 19th TSB Stadium!! Someone else said Glen Hughes too? Is this true?
Motorhead in New Plymouth was awesome. I'm taking the roadtrip again.

yea the motorhead roadtrip was so worth it. id fuckin love 2 go 2 this 1 but at this stage doesnt look like ill make it. i think new zealand needs more of these kind of acts heading here. my bro is an aspiring guitarist and its stuff like this that really inspires him. question: is this a whole bunch of workshops with the likes of gilby clark and joe or is it more like a concert??

I assume it's a workshop thing? Sounds like one.

Yeah I heard it was a workshop...

I hear they're getting Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) and Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple/Trapeze/Black Sabbath etc)

It's a full concert at the TSB stadium plus workshops too. The story says full concerts by Joe Satriani, Uli Jon Roth, Gilby Clarke, Glenn Hughes, Vernon Reid, Alex Skolnick and more to be announced. There are expos, forums and clinics too. For guitarists this is mind blowing.
Anyone know who else is coming??

Michael Schenker?

I nearly purchased one of his signature guitars... but I didn't. Goddamn it played beautifully though.

G-TARanaki

Some of the biggest names in guitar playing will be descending on New Plymouth for New Zealand's first international guitar festival G-TARanaki from 14-19 July 2008.

Guitar hero Joe Satriani will head an all-star lineup in the six-day celebration of all genres of guitar playing that will include workshops, forums, concerts, and jam sessions that everyday New Zealanders can take part in.

The event will also showcase other legendary axemen including Glenn Hughes, former frontman of Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, Uli Jon Roth, Guns and Roses' Gilby Clarke, Tim Donahue, and the Alex Skolnick Trio.

Aimed at providing a learning experience like no other, G-TARanaki will move beyond concert venues and out into local schools for Sky Academy workshops in Opunake, Inglewood, and Waitara.

For six days New Plymouth will become New Zealand's guitar capital, offering something for all guitar players and fans across a variety of musical styles.

An answer to that would be a concert, not a guitar festival Wink

Motorhead wouldn't be seen dead at anything like this, knowing Lemmy Laughing He hates guitar wankery (I love it hahaha)

God forbid!

Kerry just whips around random notes, just really fast... as long as he lands on a note in key that he sticks to from time to time, he gives the illusion he's actually in key... *JIGGAJIGGAJIGGAJIGGAREEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW*

It works for what they do... All he'd teach at a clinic is how to cheat at soloing hahahaha.
