yeah, iv thought bout which bands i would consider heaviest of all time and id say that napalm death have to be up there. i find it much easier to listen to cannibal corpse, deicide, mayhem or behemoth. napalm death is so raw and in ur face. but yeah they were really good to see and they were really down to earth. once the set was over the singer stood at the front door taking autographs and handshakes so i got to meet him and complement him on the show. i thought that was really cool of him coz i dnt no many bands that do that.

Yeah I could never pick a death metal band as heaviest band ever. "Heavy" to me is a solid and chunky groove.

Death Metal bands nowdays lack any punch - for all the speed they throw into the music it doesn't come off any better for it. Behemoth are an example - Trey Azagthoth-esque riffs (been there, done that thanks) and loads and loads of blast beats - blast beats have become so reliant on drum triggering that it just sounds like a typewriter "tap tap tap tap" *yawn*

Whereas stuff like old Nalapm Death you can feel the power in the beats, none of this double-footed blasting, but good old fashioned single-kick, pushing really hard blasting.

np: Maiden Heaven - Iron Maiden Tribute 08. Metallica, playing Remember Tomorrow. Have a listen to the footage my man's work mate recorded. James totally rips this song up in the recorded version.
Wasted years by Devil Driver also is a must listen on this album
