RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Thu Sep 18, 2008 5:52 pm Dax Riggs - We Sing of Only Blood or Love HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Hard to define this guy, comes from a metal background but his solo stuff is more dark heavy 70's influenced rock. Great vocalist and songwriter. Given half a chance he could be huge, he certainly could teach Chris Cornell a thing or two. |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Fri Sep 19, 2008 7:23 am Nononono, definately not. Somewhere between Alice in Chains and Lou Reed, um, or something. Almost dark heavy junkie rock for want of a better way of putting it. NP: Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Sun Sep 21, 2008 11:34 am Yeah it'd be good to see them for longer, especially for the metal crowd who will be traveling for this one. But then again I travel up to the BDO to see bands play for less than that so I can't complain. |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Mon Sep 22, 2008 12:39 pm yeah thats true, i think they should "cut the fat" (sh!t like scribe and opshop) and give the international/bigger acts longer sets. np: six feet under - shake a leg (ac/dc cover) |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Mon Sep 22, 2008 12:43 pm Heh, yeah, I wish. Thing is those bands are the ones who really fill the floor. Gotta cater for the masses (or the lowest common denominator as I prefer to put it hahaha). But between Testament and Tainted, two metal bands is beter than none. NP: The Guitar hero version of Death Magnetic... ahhhhh, that's better. I can't believe they released it in its current state. I find it hard comprehending somebody as legendary as Rick Rubin making such a mess of it. |

I see what they mean by "brickwalled" compression. apparently theres a re-mixed "and justice for all" out there somewhere too with bass. |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Mon Sep 22, 2008 3:05 pm Yep, I downloaded it. If you know where to look, you'll find it. *wink* It has TWO versions of the Instrumental, one labeled "Kirk", one "James" - not sure why yet, I haven't compared the two. And yes Daniel, it's the FULL album So basically, the one I payed for, is never gonna get played NP: The new Cynic album |
