They'd make a really good power metal band, I don't like Alexi's death growl, he sounds like a smurf trying to sound evil. Quote:Die Eier Von Satan toolAND NO EGGS! |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Thu Dec 4, 2008 12:23 am yea never said it was a song luv... I was cooking.... try makin it.. it works... hahahah lol I love the confusion this piece inflicts - how many people have I seen at a party or pub when it has come on - get all amped up and agressive.. thinking it has a more specific meaning based on the video - I absolutley crap myself laughing... It has such a clean message "things are not always what they seem" ++ all the rest..... ) |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Tue Dec 9, 2008 12:30 am I second that Baphomet!! I lived and breathed 8ft when I lived in NZ - I really doo rank them up there as one of NZ's best.. was bummed when they went so quiet - but as I said on a different thread.. have you heard their new stuff that I think came out oct/nov this year.. It is soo hard to get it out here in OZ. I heard they are doing a tour of NZ too! I want to try and fly back to see them..? np: If 6 was 9 - Jimi.Hendrix |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Tue Dec 9, 2008 10:07 am 8ft shoulda changed their name aaaaaages ago. There's one original member, the music is remarkably different, and as far as I know, none of them smoke the stuff, so naming a band after it seems a bit silly at this point in time. Gary is THE NZ riff master. |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Tue Dec 9, 2008 12:48 pm Yeah I have no problem with their "new" style, it's just it's a far cry from the old stuff, which was a bit more palatable in the sense there were really catchy "anthem-like" singles that the crowd could sing along to. Dunno about "stoner metal" there though, that's more along the lines of Down and Corrosion of Conformity Quote:i always thought that 8foot could have made it really big internationally if they had stuck to their original formulaYeah when they were "on" they were certainly a big deal. I recall some really packed-out gigs with them. My first gig with them blew me away, must have been 400+ there (nowdays you're lucky to get 60 people showing up)... oh, and Gary complimented my voice, which turned me into a giggly school kid |

RE: The "now playing" thread Posted: Thu Dec 18, 2008 10:06 am Yykoon - Censored Project Fans of modern melodic death metal will love this. The middle part of this song is just so bludgeoningly crushing, it's almost impossible to resist the urge to start breaking things when it comes on. |
