Tim Finn & The Dirty Creatures:
Neil's big brother is back with a new band, new deal, new album and old favourites.
His independent 'Say It Is So' LP of 2000 was a benchmark in Tim Finn's 30-year career. Recorded in Nashville after numerous false starts, it reignited his passion for intelligent pop music and attracted glowing reviews. A new deal with EMI Australia might add the elusive last piece of the puzzle: commercial success.
His fortunies of the former leader of Split Enz have been mixed despite getting off to a flying start with his Top 10 solo debut of 1983 'Escapade'.
Since then, his direction has been somewhat confused by various dabblings with Crowded House, ALT (with Andy White and Liam O'Maonlai) and Finn, his 1995 project with younger brother Neil.
Finn's new rock quartet, The Dirty Creatures, recently concluded a three-week tour of New Zealand which drew from vintage Enz material through to his new single, 'What You've Done'.
The Dirty Creatures will be touring Australia with two up and coming concerts:
Mecury Lounge
Level 3, Crown Casino
Southbank, VIC
When: Friday 19 April 2002
Armadale Hotel
1068 High Street
Armadale, VIC
When: Saturday 20 April 2002
A sixth solo album from Tim Finn entitled 'Feeding The Gods' is due on EMI in May.
