Taupo based alt-pop duo False Heights show off their edgy alternative pop/rock sound on their new track Heavy Metal Runaway that drops this Friday the 13th.
The pair fuse sugary-sweet lo-fi vocals with futuristic, pop synths and grunge rock elements for an offbeat and addictive sound that’s both angsty and uplifting. The track’s combination of both retro punk and summery guitar sounds makes Heavy Metal Runaway one to remember as they pull off the juxtaposition effortlessly. The duo’s use of descriptive lyricism conjures up thoughts of a dark, mysterious figure with many questions unanswered, beautifully reflected in the instrumentation and melody of the song.
This is their second single for 2021 following the release of Caught Up on July 2nd, and there’s still more to come. False Heights newest music marks a major artistic leap, retaining all the charm of their early releases while boldly exploring new sonic territory.
