One of Aotearoa’s finest up and coming acts, Arahi, returns today with the release of a gorgeous new single The Best Thing I’ve Ever Seen.

The Best Thing I’ve Ever Seen is a blissful, hazy tune, which as Arahi aptly sums up, feels “like a red hot 80's sun setting on roller-skating silhouettes along a golden boulevard.”
Evoking the sense of an endless summer, the tune is all about a young woman adjusting to change and trying to keep up with the fast-paced life of the city. “She attempts to discern genuine praise from empty compliments, whilst battling the disillusionment that life in the city brings,” explains Arahi.
The Best Thing I’ve Ever Seen was recorded at Surgery Studios in Wellington with engineer Andrew Downes, mixed by Arahi in his home studio and mastered at Munki Studios by Mike Gibson.
It also comes served with a cherry on the top by way of a B-side - a mesmerizing dance remix of Arahi’s 2020 single Searching In The Sun. The remix will be available as ‘very limited edition’ mixtape on cassette, featuring the new single and previously released music.

Also, keep your eyes peeled for a music video in the coming weeks too!
Today’s releases are just more proof that Arahi is without question one of this country’s most idiosyncratic emerging artists.
Although not a household name (yet!), he has built a reputation as a bona fide artistic soul, who juxtaposes classic and contemporary sound with an eclectic, eccentric band. Always with a flair for the theatrical, he continues to push the boundaries of indie music and leaves his audience wanting more.
And the good news is, more is on the way. Watch this space!
