Music News - New Release from Riiki Reid 'Newer Oxygen'

Following a powerful reintroduction as Riiki Reid this year, and fresh off completing a tour with Australian’s Budjerah, Riiki Reid has released her brand new mini-EP Newer Oxygen.
Going back to her roots of indie rock and alt influence, Riiki Reid revisited the music she wrote at the very beginning of starting her solo project in 2019.
“This EP explores a side of myself that was always there, but nobody has been able to see. It’s all about saying goodbye to Riiki and hello to Riiki Reid; a version of me that isn’t dedicated solely to one genre but an array of styles that I love and make me ‘me’” explains Riiki Reid.
To celebrate the EP, this week down at Auckland’s St Kevin’s ‘Riiki Reid’s Window’ pop up stole the attention of passersby. An epic art installation and countdown clock to EP drew attention to Newer Oxygen, and for select lucky fans RIIKI performed a private pop up show Thursday night in her window.
Newer Oxygen - made up of singles Meet U Again, The Dream State and a brand new track Say You Want Me - is all about breathing in fresh air. The new mini EP symbolises the start of a new journey in the world for this unstoppable artist; the journey of Riiki Reid.
