LOOP Recordings Aot(ear)oa unveil the first edition of a new compilation CD series this week. Produced in association with The Green Party of New Zealand, 'The Green Room 001: Eco-Nation' couples LOOP's mission to promote and celebrate New Zealand music with The Green's message of a sustainable future for our country as an Eco-Nation - one which embraces environmental and social values as a way of life. Green MP Nandor Tanczos himself features on the disc, delivering a spoken word message over dubbed out beats, and finds himself in the company of Trinity Roots, Che Fu, Fat Freddy's Drop, The Nomad and other stalwarts of New Zealand's strong roots reggae and dub scenes.
As for the title of the compilation, it's lifted from LOOP main man Mikee Tucker's syndicated radio show 'The Green Room', which plies the best local product over New Zealand airwaves on Radio Active 89FM in Wellington, RDU 98.3FM in Christchurch, Radio 1 91FM in Dunedin and Studio 96.8FM in Queenstown.
The show is also about to begin broadcasting on demand online via leading Internet audio site Groovetech.com
