Outward Sound is pleased to announce the third round of grant recipients for 2009.
Phase Two grants, providing the opportunity for in-market performances and related business development, were awarded to Bang! Bang! Eche! (showcasing tours of the UK, Australia and the USA including CMJ Music Marathon),Dawn Raid (to promote the US release of ‘Savage Presents “The Tribal Council”’) and The Rabble (showcasing tour of the UK and Europe, promotional activities, and Rebellion Festival).
Phase One in-market touring and scoping grants were awarded to Smashproof (promotional tour of Australia in support of their debut album The Weekend out through Universal, including showcasing at Big Sound), Fat Freddy’s Drop (to secure distribution and marketing opportunities in the USA), Surf City (to undertake a promotional tour of the USA including showcasing at CMJ Music Marathon), Nesian Mystik (to further develop business opportunties in Australia, Japan and the USA), David Dallas (to further develop business opportunities and to undertake promotional activities including the CMJ Music Marathon), Kingston (to follow up on label interest including showcases in LA / Toronto / New York and to work with top producer Brendon Friesen), and Solstate (to promote and support the release of their album Whispers and Tremors through EMI/Virgin India).
The following music managers - Carthew Neal, Rebecca Caughey and Matt Coleman - were awarded phase one grants to attend international tradeshow Midem 2010.
Applications for the next round of Outward Sound grants close on October 27th at 5pm.
