Revelling in the energy and spirit of new influences and inspiration, dynamic Rwandan-New Zealand rapper and wordsmith, Raiza Biza, returns with a brand new project in The Prequel.
The new EP from Raiza Biza, his first collection of work 2021’s A Summer In Retrograde album, sees the artist experiment further with a diverse and vibrant palette of sounds and production, providing newcomers and longtime fans alike with six tracks of texturally rich music that represents an exciting fusion of Afrobeats and Hip Hop.
“Over the last few years I’ve been experimenting with African sounds and samples and trying to figure out a way to tell my story while referencing my culture. It’s been a process of learning that less is sometimes more, and is still a work in progress.
This EP is almost an intro into a new world of music that I’ve been surrounding myself with away from the public. My next few projects will aim to complete that picture."
Raiza Biza’s rise to prominence has been a journey that has afforded him invaluable experiences as a headliner, as well as an artist working with the likes of Oddisee, Sampa The Great, Black Milk, Melodownz, JessB, Remi and more.
Using his music and platform to give visibility for other artists and music fans from throughout the African diaspora, Raiza Biza’s career is a revered one within the community and for outsiders looking in, the growth and development of his catalogue has become unbeatable in terms of creative vision and execution.
