This year marks the 20th anniversary for the event, famous for its stunning lakeside location, and for breaking new acts. Fat Freddy’s Drop, Kora, Ladi6, The Black Seeds, Shapeshifter—they all played at Rippon before they became household names, and they all rated it as one of their favourite all-time festivals.
Now shifted to a new site eight minutes up the road, and running with a new name, the 2018 TUKI lineup features, among others, award-winning US-based band Unknown Mortal Orchestra (UMO), Aaradhna, Marlon Williams, Maala, The Phoenix Foundation, The Shamblés, Mel Parsons, Lips, Arma del Amor and, just announced this week, TAPZ.
P Digsss and Anika Moa will take on MC duties, and TUKI festival-goers will be treated to a plethora of locally-sourced eats, as well as regional wines and craft beers, all served up in a sustainable, sun-sational environment. Then there’s the TUKI Forest, a magical shady treescape with more music, installations, interactive goings-on and water features.
TUKI takes place on February 10, 2018 at Glendhu Bay, Wanaka.
