Following the Greg Page animated video release on Tuesday; Julia Deans' The
Panic is available on all streaming platforms and to purchase
today.
The Panic is a song about learning to live with fears,
anxieties and depression. And like the video suggests, talks to working
out how to rein these feelings in before they become all consuming.
“The Panic offers
a change in pace from Deans' balladic recent tunes, with Gary
Numan-esque chugging robo-pop production contrasting nicely with the artist's
crystalline vocal delivery.” Under The Radar
“Based
around a guitar riff that came to her in a dream, fully-formed, The Panic is a
more head-down, arse-up rock track. It could almost be a classic old-school Fur
Patrol song, the kind of thing they might have once unleashed on drunken
punters speeding off their nuts in assorted Melbourne rock bars.” –

The Panic is the third single of Julia’s 10-track albumWe Light Fire due for release on May 11th.
It is an album inspired by world events, friends and family; an album of
songs that examine both what it means to be human, and our
spectrum of strength and vulnerability.
New Zealand will soon have the opportunity to hear both the beautiful songs
from We Light Fire as well as retrospective hits as Julia
embarks on a seven-date tour supporting Marlon Williams this May.
