Rip It Up is delighted to announce that the results of the latest Nielsen Media Research readership survey reveal an increase in readership to 99,000. This is the third consecutive year that our readership has grown.
The Nielsen figures confirm that the Rip It Up reader is generally aged between 16 – 29 years and not surprisingly music and all that goes with it is top of mind for them.
Rip It Up has a strong presence in High Schools and Tertiary Institutes around the country.
While the majority of our readers are European (71%) Rip It Up has strong appeal with Maori and Pacific Islanders and our greatest following is within Metropolitan and Urban New Zealand.
The strong growth in readership for Rip It Up reflects our ever increasing profile as well as our reputation for setting trends and leading the way for all that is happening in music and music culture.
Our newly re-vamped website reflects our audience’s high interest in and consumption of technology, from gaming to online to mobile phones.
After 27 years as New Zealand’s iconic music magazine, Rip It Up continues to attract new readers and remains as relevant today as it was at the dawn of punk.
