Green Grove (the musical project of Durham Fenwick), has just announced a string of live shows to celebrate the release of his debut album Machine Music, out September 27 on Sunreturn.
In Auckland Green Grove will perform at The Wine Cellar on 27 September, with support from neo soul outfit Skilaa and the psychedelic DIY instrumental producer Kraus. In Wellington Green Grove will play the Pyramid Club on 5 October with support from electronic producer Cave Circles. Pre-sale tickets are available from UTR.
This announcement tops of a busy fortnight for Green Grove. Following the release of their debut single Silently Green Grove has been play listed on New Zealand's Student Radio Stations, placed Number 1 on 95bFM's Top 10, performed at Flying Out's The Night Before The Others Way, featured on RNZ's Lately programme and even given a cheeky shout out in the NZ Herald.
Green Grove is the musical project of Durham Fenwick, a musician and songwriter currently based in Auckland.
Green Grove's music invites deep listening, creating lush electronic worlds inspired by Lounge and Library Music. Durham has wholeheartedly immersed himself into Auckland's independent music scene, initially as the guitarist of New Gum Sarn, and then swiftly in to groups such as Guardian Singles, Bozo, PG/VG and as a live sound engineer at Whammy Bar.
Machine Music was primarily written and recorded by Fenwick, along with help from his live band, synth / sax player JY Lee (Yoko-Zuna), synthesist Madison Eve (Peach Milk), bassist Paul Brown (Trust Punks, Horror In Clay), and drummer Mason Fairey (The Naenae Express, Oscar Dowling). The final mixes for Machine Music were then handed over to audio engineer Tom Healy (Tiny Ruins, Paquin) for the finishing touches.
